Here’s why storyboards from Saint James Studios will make your production more efficient — plus a few tips to maximize that efficiency.
We get it. You’re stretched thin.
You have 100 plates in the air. Everyone is coming to you with their chaos — and you’re straightening it out. You have the pressure of the client, the agency, the production company. Amidst it all, you’re getting everyone in the right place at the right time and keeping the whole production within budget.
Pretty much, you’re a magician.
When it comes to storyboards, they may not be high on your list — especially with all the fires you’re putting out. You just want them handled so you can present or shoot your project.
So, why do you need us?
One word: Efficiency!
You’re already putting together a whole production, spending tens-of-thousands of dollars. Are you sure that everyone knows the blueprint for the story the director is trying to tell? No one wants to get caught in post realizing they didn’t get THE shot that ties it all together.
Did you know that conceptual storyboard artists can help you do things more efficiently?
Did you know that we suggest options for scenes or sequences that can save money?
Did you know that our process can help get your director focused and organized?
Storyboards will help give clarity to your director’s vision, and save time in the long run!
Having storyboards will facilitate your production by narrowing your story to the limits of your (:30/:60) spot. At SJS, we are experts at helping you tell your story in that period and giving you alternate shots or sequences, so you can have a successful shoot.
And we’re more than happy to toss in a few shots to keep in your back pocket in case the opportunity arises to shoot something for the director’s reel!
At SJS, we’ll make sure when it comes to the editing room, your shots will be there and make sense, because they’ll be based on well-thought-out storyboards.
Want to maximize your shoot & budget? Here are 4 ways to help us help you.
Be transparent with us. We’ll be transparent with you. And since we’ll be able to plan accordingly, you’ll save rush charges! Provide us the info, we’ll have a creative brief and offer an estimate — and then we’ll get it DONE. The more you can give us, the more accurate pricing we can give you.
So we can be the best partner possible, here’s what we will ask of you:
- How many spots? This allows us to determine the workload and plan out our schedule so we are available to you.
- Who’s directing? It’s good to know because if we’ve worked with them we may have a sense of how they work.
- Send us the latest scripts, shot list, casting photos, and locations. Whatever you have — send it. This informs us and helps us do a great job quicker. If you don’t have a shot list, we can create one from the script!
- When is your pre-pro? When are you shooting? Give us the production calendar. Let us be on the schedule with you. This way, we won’t be out to lunch an hour before your pre-pro in case you need changes!
We want you to shine. We want to shine. And we want you to keep coming back.
From our experience working on thousands of jobs, the more you can make us part of the team — the smoother it will go!
